A HOME FOR A WIDOW
Dear brothers and sisters, as you know, our missionaries work in many regions of Ukraine; even where there has been a military activity for six years now. In eastern Ukraine, in Lysychansk and surrounding villages, a group of young missionaries successfully (though with great difficulty) carry out evangelistic activities. To do this, they establish personal communication with individuals and families.
The missionaries have long been in contact with one large family who began attending church. This is a widow named Natasha Almakaeva with seven children (the eldest son is 15 years old, the youngest daughter is 3 years old). They live in temporary housing in a village that is slowly dying. Where normal living conditions are non-existent and there are no opportunities to go to school beacuse the school in the village is closed. In addition, this widow was robbed by dishonest people. The family had utility debts that the missionaries have partially covered. The family has no close relatives. The missionaries reached out to us to help find a home for the family to move to in Lysychansk so that the children could go to school and, above all, so that the family would live near the church. This way all the children would hear the Word of God.
We are praying for this family and God’s guidance is eveident. We found three options for buying a home and have settled on the best option for the family. The cost of the home is $7,000.
Dear readers, we are reaching out to you for help for this family.
Please send your donations to the mission address marked “HOUSE FOR WIDOW NATASHA, Lysychansk”.
MISSIONARY IN AFRICA
In Africa, we support an orphanage that houses children that are 100% orphans as well as children that have parents who aren't able to support them. There was a man there, by the name of Sipo who founded the orphanage. Since his passing, his wife, Cindi, took over. They gather these kids, about 50 of them everyday. They feed them on a daily basis and do a Bible lesson with them. We thank God for everyone who has donated to these children, they were able to purchase Christmas presents for the kids, but there is still a great need there. January 24th the villagers of where this orphanage is held a protest against the local businesses and committed arson. Thank God the building where the orphans gather was not set on fire. Cindi also works with the widows of the village who barely get by with what they have. She helps them by putting together packets of necessities. Cindi also gets together with them for prayer and to read the Bible.
Please pray for Cindi and the work that she does there.
If you would like to support the orphans or the widows in Africa, when you donate, please put in the memo "AFRICA"
REQUEST FOR HELP
Writing to you is, Andrew. I am originally from Lviv. In 2006, I felt God's call to the missionary field, to which I responded. After graduating from the Good Samaritan Missionary Missionary School (Rivne), we were sent to the Crimea, where we served until 2017. There, we saw God's blessings in the preaching of the Gospel. People responded to the call and received water baptism.
In 2017, in connection with the situation after the annexation of Crimea, the leadership wanted to use the freedom that we have in Ukraine, in the Kherson region, to preach the Gospel. So, in 2017 (early summer) we moved to Kherson region. In the fall we had our first water baptism.
We have had a number of evangelistic events for children and adults. It is a pleasure to see the fruits of our work and the work of God's grace. In 2018, two more people joined the church through water baptism. More than 10 people attend our services now.
In 2019, the question of having a permanent place to gather is became more prevalent. The past couple of years we have rented a couple of different places. In the summer of 2019, the construction of a missionary home combined with a church began. Here, the missionary family will be able to live and will have a large space for holding church services.
We are now in the final stages of construction.
Please help in the completion of the house of worship. We need $ 3,000 to complete the construction. Thank you!
P.S. If you decide to help, please send your donations with the label "House of Prayer, Kherson"
Please let us know what you are donating for in the comments section on the donation form.
